June – Lisa’s pick

We read a non-fiction book about war for May, so this is an interesting winter selection for the bookies crew.  I am 81st on the reserve list for this title at the library and I might assume the popularity indicates some word of mouth publicity, I am not sure what it means for quality literature.  I haven’t read Stasiland, Funder’s previous release but I have to admit I am drawn to war encounters.  I am open to the stories that come from desperate survival, what we are capable of as human beings when we pare life back to basic emotional instinct and a reliance on strangers.

Looking forward to All that I am when I can get my hands on it.
